Accountability Will Be Required To Re-Establish Global Trust—The E-Files Are A Start

I think it is safe to say that the post-World War II order and its various institutions have officially failed, and this failure will begin to show in election results across Western ‘democracies.’

It might not happen tomorrow, or in the next few years—or even the next decade, for that matter. But just like death and taxes, it is certain. To re-establish trust with the various population centers in the West, the shaky nation-state system will need some form of public accountability.

This accountability will need to hurt. That is a required prerequisite. The pain will need to be witnessed, either in person or on our phones, for true accountability to occur.

The electorate will need to see the public gutting of corrupt institutions, the fall of once-untouchable individuals, and the confiscation of assets. I hate to say this, but it appears the long-running imperialist movie is reaching that point in the runtime when the pitchforks come out and bitter mobs make a dash toward mansions and yachts.

The world awaits to see who and what—including corporations, institutions, and nation-states—will serve as the sacrificial lambs to begin atoning for the Immorality Debt that has accrued over the centuries.

I can say with some confidence that the final reckoning will be costly. It will require more than just the flashy funding of museums that diplomatically acknowledge past mistakes, or throwing obvious low-life criminals under the proverbial bus.

It will require what might appear to be systemically critical entities to be broken down, sold off, and their proceeds redistributed in such a fashion that the debts attributed to immoral behavior begin to be repaid. If you think the U.S. national debt is high right now, the Immorality Debt racked up by certain powers over the centuries is orders of magnitude larger. Its repayment will require blood, sweat, and tremendous sacrifice from those who accrued it.

This won’t come easily, mainly because the grip of those soulless individuals pulling the strings is very tight. These people have a lot to lose on many fronts, so it’s expected that they will use every nuclear option available to them.

We are in for interesting times.
