Don’t let his Asian-sounding name fool you! I seriously always thought that Jack Lew was an Asian person, thinking his name was spelled Liu. It turns out that Mr. Lew is not Asian and has served inside multiple administrations going back to President Clinton.

For those of you looking for more biographical info on Jack Lew, let’s go back to his Wiki:

Lew is an Orthodox Jew who observes the Jewish Shabbat and has attended Beth Sholom Congregation in Potomac, Maryland; TheSHUL of the Nation’s Capital and Kesher Israel Congregation in Washington, D.C.; and the Hebrew Institute of Riverdale in the Bronx, New York. Interviewed in a 2010 article, Lew’s former boss on the National Security Council, Sandy Berger, commented that “Lew’s faith never got in the way of performing his duties.” A 2011 press release from the Religion News Service noted that Lew also “has extensive connections in the American Jewish community,” and that he might be able to help President Obama “build a more friendly rapport” with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

When you close your nose and dig around Jack Lew’s Wikipedia a little further, way at the bottom of his Personal Life section, it also includes a very ironic snippet of some childhood accomplishments. I say ironic only because Mr. Lew’s hands are literally dripping with blood as he is used as a tool to help manage an American-Israeli starvation and ethnic cleansing campaign in Gaza.

In 1971, at the age of 16, Lew helped organize The New York March Against Hunger. In 2018, Lew was honored by Queens Community House for his lifelong contributions to social equality.

I’m sure that looked great on his resume when he applied to Harvard!

Ok, I’m not saying he’s utterly incapable of being unbiased when it comes to making critical decisions that will benefit American interests over Israeli ones, but he will have a slightly more difficult time than former IDF “volunteer”/Obama Chief-of-staff Rahm Emanuel who is currently serving as United States ambassador to Japan.

Exactly how difficult is it to balance his spiritual allegiance to Israel and his diplomatic one to the United States? Seems like it’s not difficult at all for Mr. Lew!

According to a copy obtained by ProPublica of a cable between U.S. ambassador to Israel, Jack Lew, and Blinken, the ambassador expressed that Israel’s war cabinet, comprising Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, should be trusted to handle humanitarian shipments to Palestinians in Gaza. Despite assessing that “Israel will not arbitrarily deny, restrict, or otherwise impede U.S. provided or supported” shipments of food and medicine, Lew wrote that “other parts of the Israeli government have tried to impede the movement of [humanitarian assistance.]”
