The October 7 front page was a little creepy with a collage of victims comprising of Israeli faces—“victims of the October 7 attacks and those killed in subsequent fighting.” Then again, it was somewhat consistent because it is stripped of all context.
Then, this morning I saw the October 8 cover of the US print edition featuring one of the forgotten hostages currently in Gaza (she’s on the left), except “Israel has said not all are believed to be alive.”
If this pattern continues, we should be seeing pages and pages of Palestinian faces covering the FT in the coming weeks and months to acknowledge their passing and also the 10s of thousands currently getting physically tortured and sexually abused in Israeli prisons. 🤞
