This was somewhat refreshing to hear.
I’m not the biggest Gavin Newsom fan (ok, I’ll be honest, I’m not a fan at all), but I have to admit, it took some balls to take a swipe at DemocrAIPAC sweetheart Kamala Harris. It was a very candid interview and happened so fast that most people probably missed it. It’s nice to know that there is deep-seeded bitterness in the party after the sham-of-a-convention that happened last week.
The clip starts at Newsom responding to the question: “How you feelin’ about The Switch?”
Newsom jokes as you see bloody veins popping out on his large forehead and invisible, bitter tears roll down his perfectly tanned face:
“The Switch—Haha. Now we went through a very open process and a very inclusive process–uh–it was bottom up. I don’t know if you know that—yes, that’s what I’ve been told to say.
30 Minute convention — you know, between a Tweet and another Tweet. It was amazing. What is amazing is how unified everyone is. I mean, it’s next level.”
The entire time he makes these jokes he is very figgity, constantly fixing his sleeve and fiddling with the button on his suit.
